Troika Dialog, the leading Russian investment bank, has been awarded Best Investment Bank in Russia in the recent Global Finance selection of the World’s Best Investment Banks for 2010.
In a challenging climate for Investment Banking, Troika Dialog managed to sustain its strong business performance and preserve its capital strength. Its Investment Banking business currently leads Russian Debt Capital Market league tables in terms of volume, number of issues and market share.
Troika Dialog saw considerable success in both the number and size of deals where it has been an advisor throughout 2009 and this has continued into 2010. During 2009, Troika Dialog joined forces with Standard Bank, a partnership which has united the strengths of two emerging markets champions to build the premier emerging markets focused institution. This partnership has been validated to date by the number of successful deals that have already been closed.
Commenting on the award, Jacques Der Megreditchian, Chief Business Officer of Troika Dialog said, "Recently we have experienced among the most difficult and volatile periods in the history of the financial markets. The fact that Troika Dialog has come out as the leader serves to validate our business approach with a focus on providing traditional intermediary services rather than making leveraged bets with our capital. Given anticipations for continued uncertainty in the markets we're confident that our proven approach will enable us to continue providing quality service to clients and to remain in a winning position in the future."
"The last 12 months were decidedly mixed for investment bankers," said Global Finance publisher Joseph D. Giarraputo. "But many institutions continue to provide the best possible services to their clients, and we salute them."
