Sberbank CIB acts as organiser of RusHydro Eurobonds placement worth 20 bln roubles

Sberbank CIB1, Sberbank’s corporate and investment banking business, acted as the organiser of RusHydro Eurobonds placement worth 20 bln roubles.

RusHydro closed the bid book for Eurobonds worth 20 bln roubles due February 2021 on February 8, 2018. Bids exceeded 90 bln roubles at the peak, and the coupon rate was set at 7.40% per annum, one of the lowest rates on the rouble-denominated Eurobond market.

Gazprombank, J.P. Morgan, Sberbank CIB, and VTB Capital acted as organisers of the placement.

Olga Gorokhovskaya, Managing Director, Capital Markets Division of Sberbank CIB, said: “We are very delighted about both results of the road show and the transaction, which is the first rouble-denominated Eurobond placement since the beginning of the year. More than 70% of the placement was allocated to foreign investors, which is an almost unprecedented case for the rouble-denominated Eurobond market. The company placed the Eurobonds inside its own secondary curve, according to our estimates, the discount was about 10 bps.”
