Sberbank CIB1 has won three accolades at Ñbonds Àwards 2015: “Best initial corporate bond placement deal” (for organising Polyus Gold’s series BO-01 bond placement), “Innovation of the year” for organising the issue of federal bonds (OFZs) with their nominal value indexed to inflation (this was the first time that OFZs had been placed through book building instead of an auction), and “Best investment bank (company) for work with first tier borrowers”, which recognised the efforts of the Capital Markets team.
The awards were presented during the 13th Russian Bonds Congress, which was organised by Ñbonds-Congress and took place in St. Petersburg. On behalf of Sberbank CIB the awards were accepted by the Capital Markets team.
The winners and runners up are determined by a survey held on the Cbonds website throughout the month prior to the Russian Bonds Congress.
“These accolades from Ñbonds Àwards reaffirm the first-class work performed by our team. We always strive to offer our clients advanced solutions and the highest possible level of service,” commented Anton Malkov, Head of Capital Markets at Sberbank CIB. “Despite the challenging market situation, for us this year was full of first tier fixed income deals. In addition we continue to broaden our expertise, in particular we were one of the organisers of the first OFZ-IN deal. This new instrument proved to be very popular and drew a lot of interest. We are glad that our efforts and professionalism have been recognised by the investment community.”
This is the fourth year in a row that Sberbank CIB has received accolades from Ñbonds Àwards. Last year the company won awards in four nominations: “Best initial placement of subfederal/municipal bonds” for organising the placement of the Krasnoyarsk Region’s series 34008 bonds, “Best team on the bond futures market” and “Best investment bank (company) for work with first tier borrowers”. Chief Economist, Managing Director Evgeny Gavrilenkov was named “Best macroeconomics analyst”.
