Sberbank CIB wins three nominations at Dealer of the Year 2017


Sberbank CIB1, the corporate and investment banking business of Sberbank, has come first in three nominations at the 16th Annual Dealer of the Year Awards (The Best Dealer & Desk Awards), organised by the Moscow Interbank Currency Association and the Commonwealth of Financial Market Professionals.

Sberbank CIB’s Global Market Department came first in the following categories:

  • Best Forwards & Options Desk (second year in a row).
  • Best Banknote Desk (second year in a row).
  • Best Forwards & Options Dealer – won by Andrey Strunilin, Executive Director and Head of the Short-term Interest Rate Trading Unit.

Sberbank also won the main award of the event – Best Bank of the Year – due to its overall performance in the awards.

This is the 16th Dealer of the Year award ceremony, which annually brings together the business community of Russia’s currency and monetary market. In 2018 more than 300 representatives of banks, bourses, companies, associations, government regulators and media outlets attended the event.
